Our Voucher Program.
Commonly called Section 8, this program is designed to assist low-income individuals by paying a portion of their rent. Newly assisted individuals are responsible for paying a minimum of 30% but not more than 40% of their adjusted monthly income for rent and utilities. Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Authority pays the remainder directly to the landlord. The combination of the tenant’s payments and the NWIRHA may not exceed the Payment Standard for the county they live.
